The Rockingham Business Development Centre is a purpose built small business incubation facility in WA and is one of 62 nationwide and 9 located in Western Australia.
With significant financial support from the Federal Government AusIndustry program, the Business Centre has been established by the South Coast Business Development Organisation in conjunction with the City of Rockingham to offer opportunities for new and small enterprises to flourish in an encouraging and supportive environment.
Research indicates that small business incubators produce a higher success rate for small businesses than those who started up without this principal support network. The City of Rockingham and South Coast Business Development Organisation are keen to provide such a progressive program within the Rockingham area.
The daily management of the facility lies with the South Coast Business Development Organisation – a not for profit association made up of local business professionals giving time to the project on a voluntary basis.
The management of the business support services will be provided by the Small Business Centre South West Metro which, aside from delivering the successful SBCSWM program, will be introducing a range of opportunities to help incubator occupants achieve success.
Commencing a new business can be a very stressful time. You may need access to support and encouragement and the RBDC is designed to provide the backdrop to directly access this assistance. In addition, the co-location and access to other small business owners makes it possible for networking and to share your successes, challenges, and ultimately work through solutions to common problems.
The business incubation program is designed to graduate viable licensee businesses over a 2 – 3 year period, thereby making room for new businesses to enter the Centre and creating a growth and graduation culture within the facility.
